For example, if your blood alcohol level (aka prescribed concentration of alcohol – PCA) is between 0.05 and 0.08g/L, you could be fined $1100 and lose your license for 3-6 months – and that’s with no prior convictions. Higher PCAs can result in prison terms. If your drunk driving causes injury or death, you could be imprisoned for several years.
